Tactile words
A feeling absurd
As I cannot read
Just noise that I heard
Grey lives matter
A black and white splatter
Dark sounds clatter
Just echoes that I heard
Stuff rots in my head
Commentary I dread
No literary cred
Just words that I heard
A poets shouts lines
Mixed with water and wine
Stop now, out of time
Just thoughts that I heard
Adulation honey flows
Poetry, anything goes
Give-up, friend or foe
Just silence that I heard
Just silence
Such is life
Somehow, progressing
Just a single path to follow
Step, step, step, mindless
No beginning, no end
A Moebus strip, twisting, turning
Always delivering the same day
Do I turn left, Turn left
Oh! Nothing there
Repeat until tomorrow comes
The road is under repair
Stop!
Wait for life to catch up
Then on again, on again
Then on again, on again
Then on again,
Off again
Far beyond the distant horizon
A realm past the setting sun
Where the stars collide with the night
And the darkness has just begun
There the planets joust in play
The giants laughing out loud
Tossing rings to one another
High, just above the clouds
The moon too has its turn
Casting silvery shapes
While the music of the spheres
To keep harmony in the play
They frolic through the night
Until tiredness has its say
And dawn paints the sky pink
The sun keen to join the fray
But the sun in its eagerness
Blots out all that is night
And finding not a single playmate
Save for shadows in the light
It looked brightly through the day
But found only shadowy things
So with tears through darkening clouds
It slipped beneath the horizon again
Once upon a needed time
As I question the dark and the light
I open myself to life’s uncertainty
And clear my thoughts away
And in my meditative mind
I allow the cosmos to sway
And embrace the silence it brings
With the whisper of darker things
As I contemplate the shadows
I climb the mountain of time
To see what waits before me
I look past the vast emptiness
Beyond the edge of my soul
Past the forest of all knowing
Towards the end of all being
Where the heavens swallow the earth
And infinity lies calling for me
And hidden in that infinite place
Where time and memories end
I find again what God wants of me
A future awash with the hope of life
With the Lord’s calling open to all
As my needed time is filled with light
