  • Just Another Sunday

A Sunday is a place I choose to spend
Whenever I’m caught in a difficult week
For time resets and starts once again
And gives me a moment of solace to seek

There I’m sure to find my coffee divine
And a spot in the Winter sun to dwell
So I can while away the slowing time
And to be entranced by Sunday’s spell

And once I’ve rejoined the human race
And settled down my over-anxious mind
I’ll savour another coffee, before I face
The incessant journey to Monday’s grind

  • Thursday is Here

    Thursday is here
    Nearly there
    Wherever “there” might be
    Is there coffee waiting?
I’ll guess I will have to wait and see.
‘cause I sure as heck need one
    Right now……
    ……
    ……
    Sorry about the delay
    I actually meant Friday
    Stuff it all
    I’m going back to bed
    Do they do home deliveries?

  • My Life

  • Cell Phone Trash

  • The Spider

    I see the lonely
Living in a world of disconnect
    Swipe left, swipe right
    Whatever they see
    Holding on to that hope
    Of a miracle
    In the lottery of life

    I hear
    Oh, I like you
    You are just so different
    From the other lost ones

    I see
    You write poetry?
    To shape your feelings
    With eloquent words
    And to weave your dreams
    On your magic loom

    I watch
    As you cast your poems
    Across the world
    Catching the hearts
    Of those seeking hope
    In a world of evils

    I know
    You care
    With your soft words
    Speaking of your dreams

    Can we meet
    My little fly
    Anywhere will do
    But my parlour awaits
    A place of inspiration
    Lined with the classics
    And erudite conversations
With the poets who capture their dreams
And weave their magic like you
    My little fly

  • TV Remote

    TV Remote

When is nothing, just a time of day
Twisting life, find a different way
    Thoughts lost, darkness on time
Another day, if you don’t mind

Everything there, but is it hope
A purpose in life, press the remote
    Mindless tripe, fodder to view
Men in white coats, coming for you

Take me away, reality has died
    Nothing left, insanity has survived
Life in reverse, just wasting away
Do not pass Go, the end is today

  • Monotony

    The lonely come
    Choosing
    The cool, dark corner
    Back to a wall
    A safe place, to watch

    Allowing time to escape
Sipping their latte, until it goes cold
    Poking at their toast
    Perhaps a bite or two
    Just to pretend

    Looking out
    Carefully
So as not to be seen
    Eyes wandering, hoping
For a spell, an answered prayer
    Something
    To change their day
    To renew their life
    To bring salvation
    But nothing there
    That the end might deliver

    Anxiety again
    Welling up inside
    Hands clasp tightly
    Feet shuffling on the floor
    Stay a little longer
    Or retreat back home
    To the comfort of sameness
    But –

    Somewhere, nearby
    Eyes catch another’s
    Fleeting glance
    Quickly turn away
    No, no, not the way
    Look again
    Empty
    Nothing left to hope
    Nothing
    Nothing

    Uncomfortable
    Anxiety overwhelms
Got to go, got to go
    Monotony calls
    The endless repeat of today

  • Fly Away

    Away, away, come fly away
    Unburden your troubled thoughts
Let them float across the sky
To mingle with the wispy clouds
And fall as teardrops of hope

    Let your spirits wander freely
    Over the oceans and seas
    Chase them in your dreaming
Give them the life they seek

    When you have flown forever
And your spirits drift back to be
    Share them in your poems
    To set other dreamers free
