The Debris of Time

I move among the debris of time
The clutter collected over years
People, things, friendships, now
bound only by memories and tears

But I am still the same inner being
Just my body that is growing old
My mind collects the wisdom of years
Faded stories are mine to be told

The untidy web that is much of my life
Ensnares words that drift in the air
These I weave with shadows and dreams
And craft the threads of hope and prayer
